Joe Balsarotti, has over 45 years of computer industry experience, reaching back to the days of the Apple II. His career began at the age of 15, when he was already being paid as a computer consultant. At 16, he began work at Computer Country, the local computer chain where within two years he was installing school computer labs throughout the region. While attending College in the morning, Joe was hired by Software Galleria, a once-national chain of software-only stores where within six months he became buyer and then also, store manager. At the demise of the chain, Joe immediately found himself at Software To Go, a local three-store chain with national aspirations. After two years as buyer, Joe was promoted to Director of Operations and in 1992, Joe purchased the company from the retiring founder, Peter Reunert.

Joe has been interviewed by numerious media, including NBC Nightly News, USA Today, Consumer Reports, CRN, St Louis Small Business Monthly and SBTV. Joe writes a technology column for St. Louis Construction News And Review Magazine and hosted the Computer Time radio program for over a decade on WIBV and WEW-AM.

In 2005 , Joe was given the honor of being chosen for a ‘cover story’ in Computer Reseller News, the computer industry trade paper. The article focuses on the challenges independent technology providers face getting assistance and support from manufacturers and tech distributors. Balsarotti also was invited to attend ceremonies at the Computer Industry Hall of Fame in 2004 and has participated in various panels during industry trade shows and conferences across the country.

Joe, served three terms as Chairman of the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) Missouri Leadership Council, representing about 12,000 Missouri Members. Joe has been a member of the NFIB Missouri Leadership Council for over twenty-five years, served on the NFIB’s Technology Panel and is a longtime member of NFIB’s Leadership Trust.

For 12 years, Joe also served as Chairman of the Clayton, Missouri Merchant Association and served on the Clayton Beautification and Economic Development Committees.

In addition, Joe currently serves on the Board of Directors of the ASCII Group, an organization of over 1250 independent computer and technology solution providers in North America and has helped develop guidelines and programs, as well as participated in negotiations between technology vendors and the ASCII Group on behalf of all members.
